“I’m Matt Johnson and I have a catheter fitted”

About – catheter urine bag holding socks

“Discretion is important for everyone, so I asked, Why isn’t it being offered to people who need it most – people with catheters fitted?”

My Story

Now, I’m happy to tell you that here, but I don’t want you to be able tell just by looking at me. I think that this is how it should be, which is why I created the Catheter urine bag holding Socks, our very first medical solution designed by people who use them, for people who need them.

I’m 50-years-old now, and for almost all of my working life I’ve been an entrepreneur. While being diagnosed with MND (Motor neurone disease) in 2010 has put a stop to many of the things I’ve done throughout my life, it hasn’t been able to touch my entrepreneurial spirit!

I’ve found that questioning things generally leads to new answers, whether that was with technology in my early career, or now with the things I encounter as a wheelchair user.

Having a permanent catheter fitted was hard enough to deal with, so I asked, ‘Why does holding the urine bag to my leg have to be a struggle too?’

Unable to find a satisfactory answer to my question on the market, I set about designing and producing my own. My hope is that the cSocks will bring discretion and comfort to people who need it most, just like me.
